the grey frames cometh

CBS Outdoor have been working through the network, putting up these big grey frames for their billboards. Judging by the press release, it seems it’s so they can use something like spray-mount instead of paste.

That’s fair enough.They make money out of advertising, so they may as well make it easy for themselves. But it would be nice if they could perhaps pay a little attention to the nice heritage features they’re stomping all over. Like the nice green stripey borders around the original advert frames (which make it easy to see, at a glance, which station you’re at – it’s a different colour for each station north of Finsbury Park). And would it kill them to use a darker frame that might fit the colour scheme a little more?
