#lovetheclimate: Battery Kemble Park
One of my favorite DC haunts, Battery Kemble Park is right by The American University. A nice spacious field with some good trails, I have been frequenting the park for 17 years now. Thus my submission to #lovetheclimate. Too bad some bozo felt the need to go four-wheeling, as evidenced by the tire marks.
Originally (according to Wikipedia), Battery Kemble was the site at which the Union Army stationed two 100-pound Parrott rifles, placed in such a way as to sweep Chain Bridge and Virginia beyond. Battery Kemble Park is bounded by Chain Bridge Road to the west, MacArthur Boulevard to the south, 49th Street to the east, and Nebraska Avenue to the north.
