CASS: Chasing Shay 6 up Cheat Mountain

In June of 2010, Delaware Train videos travels to Eastern West Virginia to once again visit the Cass Scenic Railroad. I havn’t been there in nearly 3 years, so it was nice to be out in shay country again. While there, we chased both operating locomotives up Cheat Mountain to as far as Whittaker station. Here we chase Western Maryland Shay #6, the last shay ever built, up Cheat Mountain

The WV Presents “CHASING THE NEW TYGART FLYER” West Virginia Central Railroad Elkins

SPECIAL PRESENTATION! “Chasing The New Tygart Flyer”. In The WV’s first new video of 2011, we chase the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad’s “New Tygart Flyer” excursion train from Elkins to Bemis, West Virginia, behind former Western Maryland Railway F7s #67 and #243, and featuring many runbys along the way. Included are runbys on trestles in downtown Elkins and Canfield, the Isner Loop crossing, exiting Kelley Mountain Tunnel, Bowden crossing, and more! Also included is the “bonus” video “Arrival & Departure”, showing The Durbin Rocket arriving at Durbin depot behind former Moore-Keppel (Middle Fork RR) Climax #3 (“Baby”), and, on another day, The Cheat Mountain Salamander excursion departing Elkins with its historic Western Maryland coaches. Look for several more videos from The WV Network and Matt Wilson Productions during January, including historic footage of the now defunct West Virginia Northern Railroad at Kingwood, as well as the SEASON PREMIERE of “The Cass Scenic Railroad Play Down Theater” in February! STAY TUNED!
