So many things were put on hold for the 5 years we built our addition. 3 of those years comprised time wasted in violation of a contractual deadline. Playing pool, playing DDR, playing guitar …. So many thigns we used to do. But we had to retreat 100% into our computers, and still haven’t fully emerged yet.

Also: In the upper-left, you can see my 4th-to-last computer, "Hell" (the first "Hell", not the current "Hell"… I’m on my second cycle through names, with my newest computer being the 2nd "Hades"). I’m about to finally trash old Hell; it’s hooked up in the living room right now for one last gasp, whereupon I realized there’s only ONE file left I might want to copy — and old WAV fo me laughing. But since there is no USB, no floppy, and no network… I’m not going to bother. Anyone want a K6-233 w/4G & Win98?

Our newly-installed spiral stairs are finally up! No railing yet, but that doesn’t deter the cat from trying out his new playground. He must think all this time everybody has been putting all this here for him…

Well, now they have stained the filled-in huge stairwell scratch from when they brought in the new circuit breaker box (idiots — they’re also going to repaint my downstairs door for scratching that) …. It definitely feels better to the touch — flat, instead of a scratch/. It looks better than before they stained it — the putty alone without a staining actually made it worse (see below). After all we’ve put up with, I wonder if this is worht fussing over. Then again, they don’t get their final 00 until they fix all punch list items such as this. . . The lawyer’s advice is paying off a bit more here, the final payment was originally 00, now it’s 00-more in their best interest to comply.

Can anyone tell me what is an excellent/superb software that accurately estimates construction costs for specific cities in Virginia?

Due to several current economic factors, an accurate estimating program will not exist. Several construction companies will give you a free quote on your project.
