Question by BRM: In Virginia can health care providers opt to participate in some (but not all) of a Insurance carrier’s plans?
For example, do doctors have legal a basis to choose whether to participate in only the PPO plans for a health insurance company and not in their HMOs? What if the insurance company farms out its credentialing to a 3rd party payor? Any one know the section in the code ov virginia that would be applicable to this?

Question by : Does insurance run out at age 18 in the state of Virginia?
I’m about to be 18 this year i’ve been with Optima Health since I was little (for free) I always thought that when you turned into a legal adult insurance gets taken if you don’t start paying for it. My mom keeps telling me that it lasts until I turn 19 but that just doesn’t sound right to me. I live in the state of Virginia. Can someone please help me out? Thanks
i do have serious health problems… chronic illnesses…type 1 diabetes and celiac disease

There should be a phone number for Optima on the back of your card. Just call them and ask. That will be a lot more accurate than asking a bunch of random people on the Internet.

I live in Virginia and I need some dental insurance for myself. I tried google and I only could find one company that had individual dental plans, but they never call me back. Can anyone suggest some other companies? I am not looking for any kind of discount plans or scams, I want real dental insurance. I am unemployed and my boyfriend would be paying for it. I need a lot of work done on my mouth immediately so I need a plan that will allow me to do that.

It has been awhile since taking, but I believe there are 200 multiple choice questions. I believe the passing score is 75%. Took and passed all on the same day, 1st time. The Va P & C is much harder.
