Question by Brian: northern virginia colleges and universities use pc or macbooks?
i am looking to buy a laptop for college but i am not sure if i should buy a macbook or a pc or which one would be of greater use of in college. i hear most schools are switching to apple.

If you have not attended orientation, you need to. By attending the orientation, you get this information from the admissions office. Generally speaking the facility will have desk tops in the library and the resource areas located throughout the facility. As far as a personal computer/notebook this is a decision you need to make.
This to consider: memory size and the purpose of the computer- if for school, you will want a good word processing program, power point, wireless abilities, printer accessibility or your own, make sure you have an external hard drive (to avoid system overload and crashing), flash drive.
Notebook: limited memory, limited word processing/power point capabilities, very portable
