This photo is a lesson for me. I’ve learned that stitching a series of photos taken with a wide-angle lens introduces a lot of distortion into the resultant panorama. I tried fixing this with perspective-correcting software but it ended up looking much worse.

Looking downstream along the Shenandoah River in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. To the right is Virginia, to the left, West Virginia. This is an HDR composite of 3 exposures using Photomatix software. This is approximately where I saw the Northern Water Snake.
