POY STEM HBCU Tour 2010

The Preparing Our Youth Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Tour exposed students from High Point and Greensboro, North Carolina to enrollment criteria and student life on campus while allowing them to the engage in enrichment activities that showcased their public speaking and writing abilities. Students interfaced with College Presidents at Johnson C. Smith (Dr. Ron Carter) and Virginia Union University (Dr. Claude Perkins). Schools visited in addition to the aforementioned were North Carolina A & T State University, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University, Howard University, Coppin State University, and Morgan State University. The students also visited the City Hall and Council Chambers in Richmond Va, the Schomburg Museum, toured Harlem, NY, toured the National Urban League Headquarters on Wall Street and appeared on BET’s 106 and Park (live show featuring Fabolous and Red Cafe debut (I’m Ill) 2011 Tour is even more exciting visit www.poyfs.org This video was created by filmmaker Lexx Truss of Tru Truss Entertainment and Southern Gentlemen Films, Inc.
