Answer by tiandron The House of Dies Drear by Virginia Hamilton
“The House of Dies Drear is a young adult novel by American author Virginia Hamilton. Dies Drear was first published 1968, and is a ghost story (maybe!) and a mystery (definitely!), told mostly from the point of view of Thomas Small, a thirteen-year-old boy. It’s set in an isolated, old house full of secret passageways and hidden tunnels. The house used to be a ‘station’ on the Underground Railroad, the name given to a network of people dedicated to helping American slaves escape from their masters and reach freedom in the pre-Civil War era”
Question by Frustrated: What’s the best hotel/suite to host a party in a guest room with 20-30 guests?
My boyfriend is turning 21 and the only way we can have a party is in a hotel room. None of our friends have a place for us to party at so yeah. We’re planning on inviting about 20-30 people max. Any suggestions as to a hotel that is spacy? I’m not talking about hosting a party at the ballroom/ground floor. Also one that is not so anal about noise levels……haha which I doubt. If that doesn’t work, any suggestions on what to do? Thanks!
Answer by WV_Nomad I live in West Virginia, and my opinion would be to find a moonshiner and ask him if you can have it on his property. But in all reality, I would have it outside (because of the noise) with a large fire to stay warm. I’m sure plenty of those teens has a sterio system that can still blow the windows out of the neighbors house….lol.
Question by Chris: What’s it like to move from the West Coast to the East Coast?
I live in California and kinda want to get out of here and go back east. Born in Riverside, CA, moved to Portsmouth, Ohio in early 1994, moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in Summer 1997, moved to Easton, Pennsylvania in Summer 1999, came to Northern California in Summer 2001. Since I was only a kid, I didn’t live back east extensively enough to compare it to being out west. I’m thinking one day I might want to move to Pennsylvania or Ohio. Are people accepting to newcomers? What about in like Virginia or Tennessee?
I’m 20 right now.
Answer by James i just moved from Colorado to Kentucky. If you really wanna know what its like here just watch deliverance and thats what the people are like around middlesboro KY

Question by = / sponge: What’s the difference between 1099 g and 1099 m(miscellaneous)?
OK,let me explain a little bit what’s going on here.I decided to do my taxes on line using the H&R block free edition the software did my state and federal, i did not have any problems doing my federal and my check is already schedule to be sent in the mail anytime, but i am having a hard time with my state return(i live in virginia) for some reason my state still with the status of “pending” for 10 days now,i have been talking to the people from H&R block people every other day and they just tell me to wait because they are “trying” to figure it out what’s the cause and it still pending.
I don’t know too much about taxes but i believe my filing was pretty simple,I worked from march to November last year and i had 3 unemployment checks in December that’s why i received my 1099 g letter from the Virginia Employment Commission, i noticed something “funny” when i was doing my filing:software asked me to enter all my info about the 1099 G when i was doing my federal BUT when i was doing my state i never got to see the window for the 1099G instead i got to see a window asking me to enter my info in a form named 1099 M, ..now i am wondering if that is causing the delay in my state return, for one thing i never understood why the software never showed me the 1099G when it was doing my state
My 3 checks from unemployment was $ 522 (combined)
the federal return was free but i did pay for the state(so it can not be pending because i haven’t paid yet) I am not trying to make H&R block on line look bad maybe it is just a setback in the software ,i don’t know.
Thank you for your time.

Question by daddy8ball: What’s a cheap way to start LLC in Virginia?
I want to start a LLC for as little cost as possible. Legal Zoom wants $ 600! Is there a cheaper way/web site?
Answer by mainecpa Why do you think you need to organize an LLC? Do you understand the difference between an LLC, an S corporation and a sole proprietor?
There are both legal and tax ramification to all these organizational structures.
I just googled “compare llc and s corp” and this is a good summary
You should be able to find a local lawyer who will charge no more than $ 600. That is a reasonable price. With a local person, you have an available resource for other issues. Legal Zoom will not answer your questions a month from now, I’ll bet.
If you fail to maintain the formal details of your LLC, (On a year-to-year basis) you run the risk of someone “Piercing the corporate veil” (google it) which makes the corporate structure null and void and eliminates the liability protection.
