Did you know it takes longer for fishing wire to decompose than an aluminum can?

Can you name some of the fish that are part of Virginia’s Saltwater Game Fish Tagging Program?

These are just some of the things students who participated in 2011 Urbanna Oyster Festival Marine Science Legacy Day heard about at the VIMS booth, led by members of Virginia Sea Grant’s Marine Extension Program at VIMS. After talking to students about marine debris and the Game Fish Tagging Program, Anne Smith (Clean Marina Specialist) and Susanna Musick (Marine Recreation Specialist) led students in a fishing game. Students would use a rod and reel to pull in either a fish or a type of marine debris. Then they’d take their catch over to a table to look up information about it.

The Urbanna Oyster Festival Marine Science Legacy Day brings hundreds of elementary school students to Urbanna, VA to learn about science, conservation, and issues in the Chesapeake Bay.

My home of almost 2 years has slowly revealed a lot of termite damage that was not disclosed before sale?

Question by d t: My home of almost 2 years has slowly revealed a lot of termite damage that was not disclosed before sale?
“Mandatory seller property condition disclosure is required by law in 45 states and the District of Columbia. The states that do not require disclosure are Alabama, Kansas, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.” Does this still hold true? Do I have any legal rights? The home was inspected by a licensed home inspector who revealed some termite damage that had been repaired. His words “Adequately repaired.” Then cut to 11 months after the home has been in our name we find water has found its way into our basement and some of the drywall has to come off for repairs and Wow! I can’t believe this house is still standing! I’m not a framer but I think the corner that the “bugs” were chewing on looks to me like it is load bearing! There are no live termites in sight and the same exterminator company that mitigated the “bugs” still spray for us. This is not a pleasant way to start out our lives in our first home. Thank you much for any input!

You knew of termite damage prior to buying it and the time elapsed is enough for a lot of further damage to happen.

US state executes first woman in nearly 100 years

www.timesofearth.com Virginia – The US state of Virginia has executed a 41-year-old grandmother for the murder of her husband and his son, the first woman to be put to death in Virginia in almost 100 years. Teresa Lewis was killed by lethal injection in Greensville Correction Center at 9.13pm (0113 GMT) on Thursday. “It took about 13 minutes from the time she entered the execution chamber from the time she was pronounced dead.” “Officials said she walked on her own into the execution chamber, but media representatives – who witnessed the execution -said she looked nervous and scared.” Abolitionists painted Lewis as an example of why capital punishment is flawed, saying she has diminished mental faculties and was taken advantage of by smarter accomplices. Her lawyer, James Rocap, said: “Tonight the death machine exterminated the beautiful childlike and loving spirit of Teresa Lewis.” But with an IQ of about 70 or above, Lewis was considered fit for trial in the southern state of Virginia and had pleaded guilty to hiring two men in 2002 to murder her husband and stepson to pocket their 0000 life insurance policy. Lewis appeared tearful as she was escorted into the death chamber on Thursday before being bound to a gurney with heavy leather straps. In the moments before her execution, she asked if her husband’s daughter was there. Kathy Clifton, Lewis’ stepdaughter, was in an adjacent witness room blocked from the inmate’s view by a two-way mirror. “I want Kathy to know

What hotels along the beach in Virginia Beach, VA allow 18 years olds to check in?

Question by Alison H: What hotels along the beach in Virginia Beach, VA allow 18 years olds to check in?
Every hotel I look into in Virginia Beach (Along the coast line, approx. 3 minutes walking distance) asks that you have to be 21 and older to check in. Does anyone know of any with good rates and are 18 and older instead?

things must have changed.. I thought once you were 18 and had a credit card for deposit.. along with cash .. you were good.. I’m guessing its due to the over common practice of underage drinking.! Damn.. they are good at messing up good times! .. I would fight it.. call them tell them your a legal adult.. you have nobody to sign for you .. ask them if that mean you cant go on vacation.. you cant come spend your money there.. ./ out wit them! good luck
