808 helped us out with are cars, which was an amazing help to us! What would have been a several hundred dollar repair was reduced to the cost of a .29 part. It helped that he had a lot of tools and know-how. 808 is one of the handiest people I’ve ever met. We also split a pair of jack stands, as you don’t want to be under a car with only the tire-changing wuss-jack standing between you and getting crushed.
I even got to re-use the cardboard box from the quesadilla maker we got at a yard sale for recently.
Here I am getting a visual look at the bleeder valve for my rear-left brake line. Oh so conveniently placed in such a way that you have to remove the tire to get to it. But hey, I actually know how to bleed the brake system now.
If another brake leak sprung up in the exact same part of the car, I might actually be able to fix it myself now! It was actually really easy, mental wise. Just a pain in the ass. But not nearly as insurmountable as I had initially thought. Between Matthew and 808’s help, I’m starting to realize that cars are a lot like PCs: Not really that hard, and not really that exact of a science either. Things don’t have to be perfectly matched up, or done to spec. If I had accepted the insurance company’s "totaling" of my car last year, I’d be about 00 poorer by now.
(That shirt I’m wearing is from the company that paid for my house. It has outlived the company by a decade or so. It got bought out then pretty much dissolved. I got ,000 in free money AFTER quitting the company. Slack!)

BACKSTORY: After 808 and Gigglepuss got married at the SubGenius GFY NYC Devival, they went on a cross-country Honeymoon tour visiting various SubGenii in their home towns. We were the first destination, and among the first to get their heads measured.
